Today, two little girls came into work with their mother. They bought some colorfully packaged gum, one was pink and the other was purple. The youngest said proudly, “Mine’s the pink!” And then the older one said, “I like purple, better.” I then said “My favorite is purple, too.” And the two girls smiled and giggled and asked for their own bags, away from their mother’s laundry stuff. And I gave them the small bags for like cards and they were happy. Then they gave me a flower. I said, “Is this for me?” And they nodded shyly. I put it on my name tag for the rest of the day. I’m pretty sure that was the cutest thing I’ve ever experienced.
